President Uhuru Finally Emerges

After Kenyans' speculations on the whereabouts of President Uhuru Kenyatta, he has finally appeared in the public eye while in his office.

On the State House Twitter page, photos of the president signing the new health law amends of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act (Cap 244), the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act (Cap 244), the Nurses Act (Cap 257), and the Kenya Medical Training College Act (Cap 261) have been posted.

Other bills signed by the president are the Nutritionists and Dieticians Act, the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority Act, the Counselors and Psychologists Act, the Physiotherapists Act, the Health Records and Information Managers Act and the Clinical Officers (Training, Registration and Licensing) Act.

The President signed the documents in the presence of Speaker of the Senate, Ken Lusaka, Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Aden Duale, Solicitor General Ken Ogeto, the Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua and Kipchumba Murkomen, majority leader of the Senate.

This is hours after State House spokesperson Kanze Dena assured during an interview with Radio Maisha that the president was in his office working.

"The President is around, it doesn't mean that because he is not seen in public he is not there, he has an office where he goes every day and he is working on several things," Kanze stated.

Kanze added that she was shocked that Kenyans had not seen the President since he left China.

"On third of this month he had a meeting with executives from Global Fund and there was a Statement about it," she cited.

On Twitter, netizens had started a hashtag #FindPresidentUhuru which trended for the better part of the weekend, seeking to know the whereabouts of the president.

"Has nobody found him yet? This is madness! How does an entire president of the Republic of Kenya go missing? #FindPresidentUhuru,"Janblu Poggio inquired.

"So basically the president thinks he will disappear and leave us with Chinese loans? #FindPresidentUhuru," Stephen Muturi questioned.
