Kenyans on Monday made fun of Central Organisations of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli’s starstruck moment with TV presenter Sophia Wanuna.
Sophia was hosting the COTU boss in an exclusive interview on KTN’s Checkpoint show when he abruptly expressed his admiration for her.
Atwoli stated that he was a great fan of KTN, in particular, Wanuna's show broadcasts.
"I listen to you Sophia. I am a fan of KTN. I am your fan, in particular, you as Sophia. Let me tell you, I listen to you carefully," Atwoli insisted.
His remarks elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans with a good number insinuating that the flamboyant trade unionist was indirectly hitting on the news anchor.
“Hahaha this guy knows how to execute his pick up lines on a lady. Sophie count yourself in,” one tweep commented.
Another tweep posted, “careful Sophie I am sure he likes you there is nothing like being your fan.”
Others even went ahead to offer Wanuna pieces of advice.
“Sophie remember Atwoli told Jeff that he is a stupid lover,” Wachira Wachira tweeted.
Samuel Maina Kamau noted, “Hata vile Sophie was being eyed bana...hapo Atwoli ako na project..RESIST SOPHIE..RESIST!! “
In 2018, following rumours that Atwoli was having an affair with another KTN News anchor Mary Kilobi, the seasoned trade unionist opened up about their relationship, confirming that they were indeed a couple and very madly in love.
