Fiery Women Rep Defends Raila and CS Matiang'i Over Fake Gold Scam

Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga on Sunday defended her ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga and Interior CS Fred Matiang'i who were mentioned in an audio doing rounds on social media linking them to the fake gold scam.

A group of Jubilee-allied legislators who accompanied Deputy President William Ruto for the launch of various development projects in Endebess and Saboti constituencies in Trans-Nzoia County on Saturday, accused the former PM of being involved in the gold scam.

Wanga, during a press breifing, stated that the matter was being investigated by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Director of Public Prosecutions, thus should not be used to incite Kenyans against the former Prime Minister and CS Matiang'i.

"Political side shows by tanga tanga team should stop...It is the joke of the century for DP William Ruto to call Raila a conman," she spoke.

The legislator further noted that it was high time for leaders to stop politicizing everything in the nation.

"We know four Rift Valley MPs: Oscar Sudi, Nelson Koech, Caleb Kositany and Governor Stephen Sang were sent to Zaheer to make sure that the names of the president, CS Matiangi and Raila Odinga were invoked into the saga. But Zaheer refused and their mission backfired," Wanga told KTN news.

The Legislator noted that the politicians were trying to use the fake gold scam as a means of diverting the minds of Kenya from the war against corruption.

She further implored politicians to focus on the development of the nation and unite all Kenyans with mature politics and stop tarnishing the names of well-respected figures in the nation.

DP William Ruto has also come in defence of his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta over his mention in the audio that has now gone viral.

He asked politicians in the opposition to stop dragging the Head of State into their mess and carry their own cross.
