Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko gifted a woman who delivered a bouncing baby girl by the roadside at Muthurwa market on Thursday.
Jane Kwamboka delivered her baby with the help of the Sonko Rescue Team and was later taken to Pumwani Maternity Hospital where she was discharged from.
On Facebook, the governor wished Ms Kwamboka a safe journey back to Kisii County as he promised to shop goods that would last her and the baby a month.
“My team has gifted her shopping as she heads back home to Kisii County. We wish Mama Kwamboka and her newly born baby a happy life,” the governor stated.
Photos seen by Kenyans.co.ke show several packs of diapers, cooking oil, packets of maize flour, basins and body oil that were gifted to Kwamboka.
This is not the first time the governor has expressed his good deeds to someone.
In February 2019, the governor also came to the rescue of the family of Boniface Murage who had gone viral on social media platforms.
Murage had smuggled his daughter from Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after failing to clear a Ksh 56,000 bill.
The governor took Murage’s wife, Agnes Murage, to a supermarket where he bought an assortment of items for her.
The county boss empathised with Boniface, explaining that the love for his daughter made the 22-year-old break the law.
