Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria recently opened up about how language barrier cost him the chance to marry his former girlfriend.
Speaking in Kageeri Catholic Church in Mbeere North sub-county, Kuria recalled how he had fallen head over heels with his Embu ex-girlfriend named Muthoni.
“I met a hot girl from Embu, fell in love with her and after dating her for a while, decided she could make a good wife” he stated.
Unfortunately, when he finally professed his love to her and proposed, Kuria revealed that things did not go as planned.
He humorously recalled that after popping the question, he thought Muthoni had rejected his proposal, little did he know that he had misinterpreted her response.
Apparently, his ex replied in Ki- Embu, ‘Nimbici’, which means ‘I’m aware’ and Kuria thought she was busy and that she had declined the proposal.
The legislator stated that he later came to find out what she meant but it was already too late.
“I later came to learn what ‘Nimbici’ means but it was too late. I told her more times that I loved her and thought that she was busy”, he narrated.
He, however, asked Muthoni wherever she was, to forgive him.
The outspoken MP further urged the Embu community to embrace him as a hero since he almost married one of their own.
Reports indicate that Kuria married his current wife, Joyce Njambi, while in Saudi Arabia and together they have two sons.
