Passaris Protests Exclusion From Raila-Sakaja Lunch

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has taken to social media to protest exclusion from an impromptu lunch that Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja and AU envoy Raila Odinga had on Monday at the Burma Market.

Passaris also complained about being left out of Nairobi politics despite being the duly elected woman representative of the county.

She went on to claim that 50 percent of the population being women, they had to fight for their place on the table.

The County MP protested over what she claimed to be the ‘boys club mentality’ that she noted had to be checked.

"I promise I wouldn't have overeaten and burst your budget if you invited me as the duly elected Woman Rep. This 'boys club' mentality needs to be checked. 50% of our population are women. We have been told to fight for our space,” Passaris wrote on Twitter.

The Nairobi Senator had been joined by ODM party leader and the Siaya Senator James Orengo for a hearty lunch meal at the Burma market.

Sakaja had described the meal as the handshake lunch.

Great hosting Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and Senior Counsel Orengo James for lunch and interacting with wananchi at Burma Market earlier today,” Sakaja noted on Twitter.

The leaders then went out and addressed the local residents who had gathered around the market once word got around that their revered leaders were at a local hotel chunking away their food.
