Kiambu Residents Embarrass Waititu In Front of DP Ruto [VIDEO]

Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu was on Sunday heckled by Kiambu residents at Githurai 45, in the presence of Deputy President William Ruto.

The two had come from ACK St. Martins church, Kahawa Wendani where they worshiped in the company of MPs Simon Ng'ang'a King'ara(Ruiru), Kimani Ichungwa(Kikuyu), Nixon Korir(Lang'ata) among others.

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Waititu tries to address Githurai residents, who in turn wave their hands in protest.

Every time he attempted to make his speech, the crowd shouted, "Apana, apana, apana (no, no, no)" while waving their hands.

Waititu is also under pressure to clear his name with the Ethics and the Anti Corruption Commission(EACC) over corruption allegations.

At the time of publishing, it was still not clear why the residents were protesting against him.

It is also alleged that during Madaraka Day celebrations on Saturday, Waititu's deputy James Nyoro was also heckled at Ndumberi Stadium forcing him to cut short his speech.

Earlier on, the first-term governor explained that politicians should have reverence for the DP since he is a key pillar in the Jubilee administration.

"We have to touch on politics when we are in church because that is our work. We are not pastors.

"Our boss, the Deputy President is here. Therefore we have to repent. The same way pastors repent to bishops, we repent when we see Ruto," stated Waititu.
