Services offered on a number of government websites have been paralysed after they were hacked.
On trying to access a number of the sites especially those for the public service, the sites functionality was disabled.
The hackers left a notifier by the logo KURD electronic team and above it appears a caption written 'Hacked by W4r10k'
17 websites cannot be accessed, among them; NYS, Machakos Assembly, Kenya Meat Commission, JSC, Coffee Kenya, Cohesion and Values, among others.
On Monday morning, the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) also suffered a similar fate as it was defaced by hackers.
However, on opening site later, it showed that it was under the ICT Authority and was undergoing maintenance.
"Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. If you need to you can always contact us, otherwise we’ll be back online shortly!" GoK Cyber Security Team wrote.
According to the KURD Electronic team site, some of the activities include; mass defacement and IP Address locations.
