Janet Mbugua Makes TV Comeback
NTV on Wednesday took to social media advertising their newest employee, Janet Mbugua, who will be joining their team after a long break.
The veteran journalist who had been away from the limelight for a while will soon be making an entrance before the cameras again.
According to the broadcaster, it was time for a new voice thus the maestro journalist will be hosting a show, Here and Now with Janet Mbugua that will be airing on Thursdays.
Janet Mbugua also took to her social media expressing her excitement to be back on TV on Thursdays for the new show and in the process revealed that she was also anxious to pick up her television career.
"So this is happening! I’m back on TV! With @ntvkenya, on Thursdays...#HereAndNow...The butterflies in my stomach are REAL, but so is my excitement!" Commented the elated Janet.
The former Citizen TV anchor had quit from the screens citing various reasons and admitted that news anchoring was one of her greatest blessings but she had many other opportunities coming her way.
The renowned media personality was recently featured at her former place of work as part of a panel discussion that highlighted the negative effects of smartphones.
At the end of the discussion, the hosts, Trevor Ombija and Waihiga Mwaura, challenged her into reading a news item before taking them to a short break.
Although caught by surprise, Janet was able to prove that her anchoring skills had not faded since she left the station.
During the show, Janet also disclosed that she often took time off social media to handle her other obligations.
"I have learned to keep off the internet so I can concentrate on other aspects of my life. I take that time off social media as ‘leave’," she stated
Netizens expressed their joy on social media welcoming the former face of Citizen TV stating that they could not wait to see her on the screen once again.
