Sonko's Welcome for Girl Who Underwent Life-changing Surgery - [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has melted the hearts of Kenyans with a post on his Facebook page where he shared the video of himself and his team receiving Baby Haimana Wairimu who underwent a successful surgery in India.

Baby Haimana, who had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and was on oxygen support for two years, is now recuperating after the operation performed overseas.

The parents of the child could not afford the medical services in India after a specialized diagnosis recommended her airlifting to the Asian nation.

On May 2, 2019, the Sonko Rescue Team decided to meet all her medical expenses in India for the operation. Sonko went on to assure Kenyans that his team would continue with the charitable initiatives.

"We shall continue to offer these kinds of services to the needy families, but most importantly, we shall ensure in future that these kinds of surgeries are performed in our local hospitals." the governor's post read.

Last week the governor updated that the baby had undergone a successful 5-hour surgery and would land in the country this week. He also went ahead to encourage Haimana's parents and the Muslim faithful.

"My message to baby Haimana's Muslim family is that 'you continue believing in Allah for this great miracle for He's the most merciful and beneficent. We also thank Him for the many successful similar cases our team has so far aided'," he added.

True to his words, the cancer warrior touched ground today evening much to the joy of the awaiting Sonko who was accompanied by several of his supporters.
