Former Presidential Candidate Arrested With Bhang Worth Ksh 13 Million

Former presidential aspirant in the 2013 election, Jeffar Isaak Sora, was on Wednesday evening arrested for possession of bhang valued at Ksh 13,350,000.

Mr Isaak was nabbed in his Toyota Prado Tx model vehicle 10 kilometres north of Marsabit Police Station towing a trolley with the outlawed substance.

Police in the area intercepted the vehicle and were alarmed by the refusal of the driver to let them conduct a search.

This prompted a thorough search and the 445 Kilograms of bhang in the trolley was discovered.

Jeff Isaak was then apprehended and is currently being held at Marsabit Police Station.

The ex-presidential candidate, who planned to have a shot at the nation's top seat in 2013, went low profile after his ambition never materialized

In June, 2014, two organizations funding an initiative on national cohesion via the former presidential candidate received complaints from his employees alleging unpaid dues.

At least 10 people who had been working with Mr Jaffer Isaak had written to the Swiss Embassy in Nairobi and Inuka Trust Kenya, an organization run by former anti-corruption czar John Githongo, claiming they had not received their salaries for May and June 2014.
