CS Munya Lashes Out at MPs Over Impeachment Plan

Trade Cabinet Secretary, Peter Munya, blasted a section of MPs who were allegedly clamouring for his impeachment over his link to the alleged assassination plan against Deputy President  William Ruto.

Branding them as immature, CS Munya went on to explain that some of the legislators were just looking to ride the current wave, adding that they would do anything for clout.

"Siasa ya Kenya iko na utoto mwingi na watoto wamejaa huko Bunge (Politics in Kenya is very immature and Parliament is full of juveniles),” Munya divulged to Citizen Digital

Munya maintained that any attempts or talks about his impeachment were merely a cheap way for the proponents to gain publicity, terming them as shallow threats.

“Those are empty threats that are intended to poison the atmosphere of our politics and make it difficult to serve wananchi (citizens),” the CS divulged.

CS Munya came under fire from MPs allied to DP Ruto after he was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to make a statement regarding the alleged plot to assassinate DP Ruto.

However, Munya was swift in rubbishing the claims, citing that if such a plot were true, it would take more than CSs to even get close to someone whose security detail rivalled most police stations.

"Someone who has such heavy security, his office is almost like a police station, is going to be killed by Cabinet Secretaries who have one bodyguard each?" he wondered.

CSs Munya, Joseph Mucheru (ICT), and Sicily Kariuki (Health) were summoned to DCI offices on Monday over the alleged assassination plot.

They, however, declined to record statements because there was no official OB booking about the alleged plot.
