DCI Detectives Unleash Terror on 'China Squad' Gang

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) raided the home of a leader of a Kisumu gang identifying itself as China Squad.

The gang was reportedly notorious for forging land title deeds before using them to scam unsuspecting buyers.

The detectives, who were led by chief inspector Luka Kiptoo, pounced on the home of the gang leader identified as Peter Ochieng Okore also known as Peter Maroon and arrested him.

During the raid, the sleuths recovered illegal title deeds, rubber stamps bearing the land registry logos and land registrar's personal stamps.

Okore was also nabbed in possession of stamps believed to belong to dead advocates.

According to a report by The Star, the Kiptoo and his team had been observing the thug for a while before they arrested him alongside his wife Millicent Akinyi

The DCI officials obtained a warrant of arrest from Milimani Law Courts before they proceeded to the homestead.

On May 27, the two were arraigned in court and charged with forgery.

One of the parcels they were charged with forging was valued at Ksh40 million and belonged to businessman Maxwell Otieno Odongo.

They were, however,  released on a Ksh 500,000 bond each with a surety of similar amount.
