Police Boss' Dead Body Found Lying in Blood

A senior police officer in Bungoma was on Thursday found dead while in his house.

The Star reports that Cheptais Police OCS Crispus Sidano Mwandime body was found lying face down next to his bed.

Confirming the incident, Bungoma county police commander Francis Sang revealed that they found a trail of blood stains and vomit dotted from the toilet to where his body was.

It was his neighbours, at his rental apartment, that first raised the alarm after a foul smell emanated from his house which was locked from the inside.

The public, who were assisted by police officers, then broke into the house and that was when they found Mwandime's body.

“There was a trail of vomit and blood stains from the toilet to his bed, he had a visible injury on his forehead. The bedroom was littered with bottles of third generation liquor,” stated Sang.

He further divulged that investigations had been launched into the matter to ascertain Mwandime's cause of death.

At the time of his death, the officer was reportedly on leave and had gone back to process vouchers for the last quarter of the financial year.

His body was taken to Life Care hospital mortuary in Bungoma town and is awaiting postmortem.

Mwandime had served for 10 years in the police service.
