Collymore's Wise Words to Janet Mbugua After She Quit TV

NTV show host Janet Mbugua has recounted a piece of advice she got from the late Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore after she quit news anchoring at Citizen TV.

She posted on her Facebook page of an event she moderated back in 2017, months after quitting her job.

"We took this picture after I’d moderated a Heroes for Change session in 2017, a few months after I’d resigned as a news anchor and he said 'Don’t ever feel the need to choose between motherhood and work. You shouldn’t have to. I think companies should continue to allow new mothers a chance at both by creating the right environment for them'," part of her post read.

The mother of two called the celebrated corporate boss a progressive thinker, a man who always left her with something to think about and aspire to.

She then posted a photo of herself and Bob Collymore during the "Heroes for Change" event in 2017.

Janet Mbugua quit her job as a Citizen TV news anchor in 2017 and shifted her focus on matters affecting motherhood and young women.

She recently filed a motion to the parliament on matters regarding better dissemination of sanitary towels to the young girls in the nation. According to the petition, Mbugua wants the MPs to improve on the Menstrual Health Management (MHM) Policy in Kenya to ensure all women in Kenya are receiving adequate MHM services.

Her post ended with heartfelt condolence sent to the family, friends and colleagues of the departed business enigma.

"What a sad day indeed. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues," her post read.
