Mandera West Member of Parliament (MP), Adan Haji Yussuf is in mourning following the death of his elder brother, Ahmed Haji Yusuf.
The late Ahmed passed on Monday in Nairobi according to the information released by his close family.
"Surely we belong to Allah and indeed to Him, we shall return. It is with heartfelt sorrow that I share the news of the sad demise of my elder brother Ahmed Haji Yussuf who passed on," the mourning Adan Haji posted on his Facebook page.
His colleagues were quick to send words of condolence, with Eldas MP Adan Keynan sharing a heartfelt message on his official Facebook page.
"My sincere condolences to his family and friends, particularly to my friend and colleague Hon. Adan Haji.
May the Almighty Allah grant Ahmed Janatul Firdaus. Ameen." an excerpt of his message divulged.
Hundreds of Kenyans also shared their messages of condolences with the Mandera West MP as well as words of encouragement.
"I extend my heartfelt condolences to our elder brother Ahmed Haji and to the families; friends and entire people who lost their beloved one; oh Allah forgive him and pardon him and grant him the highest rank of Jannah," Suleiman Mohamed posted.
Adan Haji went on to share his prayer that his late brother is pardoned of any inequity and granted passage into the garden of paradise.
"Be generous to him and cause his entrance to be wide and wash him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of stains," he posted.
