Boniface Mwangi Embarrasses Alai Over Reason Behind Arrest

Activist Boniface Mwangi has faulted Robert Alai on a tweet that he posted alleging that his arrest and detention in police custody was because of his falsely perceived connection to Deputy President William Ruto.

Alai, through a Twitter post, claimed that the arrests being made recently were targeting people thought to be close to the DP.

The activist discredited the blogger's account shortly after he posted his sentiments on the social media platform.

"The current arrests are targeting people thought to be close to DP Ruto. In the whole of my interrogation, I was never asked anything to do with terrorism. It was all, "who do you communicate within Ruto's office," the blogger's post read on Twitter.

The bold activist, however, came out to strongly denounce the post shared by Alai claiming that the reason he gave, was not truthful because he (Alai) gave him a different account when he (Boniface) visited him at Central Police Station.

"That was not what you told me when I came to see you at Central Police Station. I was not even aware that you were close to the deputy president," Boniface Mwangi responded to Alai's tweet.

Mwangi went on to cast doubt on whether deputy president Ruto was Alai's friend.

"Alai, if Ruto was your friend, he should have bailed you out," he finished.

This soft rebuke by Mwangi created a stir as Kenyans poked holes into Alai's account on why he was arrested.

A netizen by the name Frank Muli advised the activist to stop creating his own narrative.

"There is a difference between 'people thought to be close to DP' and 'people close to the DP'. Read and understand. Also in the thread, Alai clearly indicated that the DCI found that he was not in communication with DP Ruto. Stop creating things to suit your narrative," he responded.

Kiprotich Sawe questioned Boniface Mwangi, "Are you in any way suggesting that you bailed him out?"

One by the name Munene Njeru asked Mwangi to expose who bailed Alai out "So Who Bailed Out Alai? Is it you or am I missing something here."

A user by the name Scholar Chebet asked Boniface Mwangi not to talk ill about Alai.

"You can talk badly when some people are arrested. Alai stood by you last time now you are mocking him!" her tweet read

A user by the name Kinuthia thanked Boniface for unmasking Alai, "Thank you for unmasking him." his post read
