Kenyans Angered by Wetangula's Message to Joe Kadenge's Family

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has been bashed on Twitter following his condolence message to the late football legend Joe Kadenge's family.

The legislator went online to express his heartfelt message to the kin of the deceased but this did not end well as Kenyans singled out a particular line that he posted.

"The curtain has fallen on our football legend Joe Kadenge His football artistry equaled modern day Thierry Henry, Christian Ronaldo, George Weah, Samuel Etoo, etc. We must have a proper policy for the welfare of our sports heroes/heroines. RIP Joe," he tweeted.

Kenyans picked out the last line where the senator proposed that it was high time for the nation to have a policy for the welfare of its sports heroes and heroines.

Wetangula was affronted from all angles being questioned why he has never, in his long tenure as a legislator, tabled the same policy he was talking about.

Other netizens went for the jugular demanding that he stopped his pretense and cheap public relations stints stating that he was only posting the condolence message for publicity.

Joe Kadenge, 84, died on Sunday morning at Meridian Hospital in Nairobi West where he was rushed by his family after he had a relapse of the stroke at his home in Mariakani Estate, Nairobi.

A Twitter user by the name Isaac Mwangi blasted Wetangula for speaking only after the football legend had passed on.

"You only get to know people when curtains have fallen. What did you do when he was alive and needed what you have just tweeted? Crap!"

A tweep by the name Joshua Ochieng alluded to the gold scandal that befell the senator two months ago.

"Uko na pesa ya Gold, unamaliza tu pekee yako," which means "You are selfishly eating the gold money on your own."

A user by the name James Thirikwa questioned the timing of Wetangula's proposal.

"Why tell us now that he's gone, selfish leader, you would have legislated that long time, shame on you!" he furiously commented.
