Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko surprised Kenyans when he abandoned his security team and skipped into a public matatu ,in Mombasa, on Saturday evening.
The governor was accompanied by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, EALA MP Simon Mbugua, and former MPs Kalembe Ndile (Kibwezi) and Reuben Ndolo (Makadara).
Former MCA Kariza Nzai will be their host in the area as they conduct their populist agenda with Team Wanjiku focusing on the plight and needs of the common citizen.
The City Hall boss was born and bred in the coastal county of Kwale making his visit at the region more receptive.
Team Wanjiku arrived in Mombasa on Saturday evening where they met some local leaders prior to the set rally to take place today, July 14.
"There is too much political talk about 2022 yet there are immediate issues that need addressing like the cost of unga. These are the things that Wanjiku wants addressed right now. We are here to ensure these issues are addressed,"remarked Sonko to a group of citizens in the region.
Team Wanjiku was formed to advocate for the rights of the plebeians in the nation in a bid to downsize the early political campaigns seen in the nation and focuses on more development talk.
