Sonko Discloses WhatsApp Message Penned Down by Distressed Nairobian

Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko, has disclosed messages penned down by a distressed Nairobian on WhatsApp.

In screengrabs seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the Nairobian, who introduced himself as a youth leader in Hamza Maringo ward, was complaining about the disposal of waste in the area.

"Governor, this is Hamza Maringo ward garbage collection site. There's been no collection of the waste for three months and residents are complaining. Please help," the youth leader captioned as he sent the photos of the collection site to the governor.

Taking to his Facebook page on Monday morning, the governor stated that he would be posting complaints from the public on his social media pages.

He noted that this would expose lazy officers who are not taking their work seriously.

Sonko also issued a stern warning to the officers stating that he would fire them if they slacked on service delivery.

"Incoming county service board, we need your urgent intervention in employing 17 new sub-county and 85 ward admins as I decided to work with the ones I inherited from the previous regime.

"I found it unfair to fire them like what other counties did because they all have families but now enough is enough," Sonko declared.
