Suba North Member of Parliament, Millie Odhiambo, on Tuesday, bravely challenged Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, on Live TV.
The outspoken MP was in a morning show, Daybreak at Citizen TV, in the company of other women legislators, Gilgil MP, Martha Wangiri, nominated Senator, Sylvia Kasanga, and embattled Nairobi County Assembly Speaker, Beatrice Elachi, when she made clear her dare.
The panellists were discussing Sonko's revelation of deceased Kibra MP, Kenneth Okoth's secret lover Ann Thumbi.
She spoke, "Sonko is not God, he also lies. I'm not afraid to take on Sonko, especially when he lies."
"When he says good things I will support him. When he demeans women, I will take him on, When he lies, I will take him on because he needs to understand he's not God," declared the MP.
According to Sonko's speech during Okoth's requiem service, he nominated Ms. Thumbi as an MCA because Okoth had asked him to since she was his lover.
The firebrand, Millie Odhiambo, however, criticised the governor's statement terming it as a derogatory.
"The governor did not think about his statement because he demeaned Ann in saying so. He made it look like Ann was basically nominated because of her sexual relationship with Okoth," she highlighted.
According to Ms. Odhiambo, Sonko is always in the business of demeaning women and was thus, not going to take his word as law, especially since Okoth was not present to give his side of the story.
She maintained that since Ann previously worked in Sonko Rescue Team, she may actually have been nominated for the good work she did while there.
She further urged Sonko's supporters to stop blocking their minds, because even when the women leaders are in tandem with Sonko, his supporters still tend to call them (women leaders) liars.
