Uhuru Discloses His Close Relative From Jamaica [VIDEO]

A common saying intimates that Jamaican roots are represented worldwide and judging by President Uhuru Kenyatta's recent revelations, it can't be further from the truth.

While touring the Carribean country, the president divulged that in his own family, there exists someone close to him whose origin is Jamaican.

In a candid speech, Uhuru went on to add that the mother to his wife's brother came from the country which loosely meant the mother to his wife, Margaret Kenyatta, was from Jamaica.

"As the prime minister (of Jamaica) was telling me that the Jamaican Diaspora is everywhere and in almost every country on this earth. So he was wondering about the possibility of whether there is a Jamaican Diaspora in Kenya.

"I told him that I can confirm given the fact that my wife’s brother’s mother comes from Jamaica and she lives in Kenya and has lived all her life," he stated.

While in that country, the president signed three deals including Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on technical cooperation in tourism, fields of sports, culture and heritagea framework of cooperation between the two governments and an MOU on political consultations.

“We need to deepen our trade because by so doing we also take our people-to-people relations to the next level.

"Kenya is today one of the largest and one of the most diversified economies on the African continent," President Uhuru continued.

The two leaders also held a bilateral meeting, with a plan to introduce transport connections between Kenya and Jamaica.

The president noted that flights from the East Coast of Africa would help strengthen economic ties between Caribean countries and the African continent.
