A raging fire razed down the personal residence of Homabay County Commissioner, Harman Shambi, on Sunday evening.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the area chief known as Odhiambo, revealed that Shambi was in the house with his wife and children when the fire broke out.
However, none of them were harmed as they managed to escape before the raging fire razed down the house.
The county commissioner told the chief that a faulty electric line may have been the source of the fire, as he heard a loud pop sound just before the inferno broke out.
Odhiambo also stated that they were in the process of battling the flames.
The commissioner's family had just moved into their new residence earlier during the day, following his recent transfer.
Shambi was former Nakuru East Deputy County Commissioner, before his promotion back on June 27, 2019.
