Eric Omondi Seeks Uhuru's Approval for New Parliament

Comedian, Eric Omondi, on Monday, made a surprise appeal to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the International Youth Day celebrations, Eric took to his social media to congratulate NACADA Director, Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy, for his good work and progress.

"I have seen the post by my brother Chipukeezy on youths. I have also been keenly following on the good work and the progress he has made to improve on the lives of young people and their talents," he began.

In the post seen by Kenyans.co.ke, he went ahead to disclose that youth empowerment had been a frequent topic of discussion with little implemented on the same.

"The issue of youth empowerment has been a topic of discussion for decades. This is a sign that we might find ourselves discussing this issue for years without actually achieving or implementing anything, " he stated.

He also outlined his plans for the youth, calling on Uhuru to support his noble task in building a youth parliament that would represent members from all the 47 counties.

"I am a strong believer in implementing and effecting change myself instead of asking others to do it. This is therefore what I plan to do by next year.

"I plan to build a youth parliament in Nairobi by next year. The Parliament will consist of 47 elected or selected Youths from the 47 Counties and a Speaker," disclosed Omondi.

The comedian further outlined the parliament's roles, calling on Chipukeezy to join him in his mission. He also urged his fellow comedian to seek President Uhuru's go-ahead on their masterplan.

"Young people will discuss, pass and implement issues that affect and improve their lives. We will then move to build a youth office in each County that is run by young people.

"Chipukeezy bro tutafute Uhunye atupatie (let's look for Uhuru so that he gives us) good will and his blessings. Guys mark my words we will do this," affirmed Eric Omondi.
