Popular Kenyan entertainer DJ Moh Spice was arrested on Wednesday night at Space Lounge Club, along Ngong Road, Nairobi.
This came after a photo of himself with a concealed firearm went viral.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest and posted his mugshot on their official social media pages.
They recovered a Steyr pistol and 174 rounds of ammunition when they took the DJ into custody.
"Following Public outcry of a DJ displaying a Firearm in public. Detectives from the Special Crimes Police Unit (SCPU) last night arrested Nicholas Mugo Mwangi at Space Lounge Club, Ngong Rd. A Steyr Pistol & 174 rounds of Ammunitions confiscated. He’s in our custody helping with investigations," DCI tweeted.
The celebrated DJ had caused quite a stir online, after his photo, in which a concealed pistol could be seen, was shared across multiple social media platforms.
Reports claimed that Moh Spice was at the popular club celebrating with his close friend, Dj Kym Nickdee, who was having a birthday party.
Detectives stated that public outcry over his blatant display of a lethal weapon, is what led to the arrest.
