Gangsters Open Fire on Busy Highway, Deaths Reported

Three men were on Thursday shot dead by unknown assailants, along the Rongo-Homa Bay Highway.

It is alleged that the trio, which was riding on a motorbike, had been followed by the attackers from Rongo Town before being killed.

Citizen Digital reported that Homa Bay Police Commander, Esther Seroney, confirmed the incident, stating that the attackers fled immediately after the incident.

“Our preliminary investigations reveal that the assailants, who were travelling in a black saloon car, were pursuing the deceased persons.

“We are conducting investigations to enable us to know the assailants and take action against them,”she added.

The police boss further called on residents to disclose any information they had regarding the incident.

The bodies of the deceased were taken at Homa Bay County Hospital Mortuary.

In another incident that happened in April, three suspected highway robbers were gunned down at Mithuri in Naivasha, by police officers.

Naivasha OCPD, John Kwasa, stated that the suspects were shot and killed after they defied orders to surrender.

The three were planning to hijack a Nairobi-bound bus before they were shot dead.
