Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen, issued a public apology to lawyer Miguna Miguna, on Saturday.
He went on to inform the embattled self-proclaimed general that he had now realized the error of his ways.
"I apologize on behalf of those who kept silent when you went through untold suffering. I apologize on behalf of your friends who like Judas, sold you for 30 pieces of silver and now are absorbed in filling their stomachs at your expense. Pole on behalf of all human rights hypocrites," he tweeted.
The move, which surprised many, came just moments after Miguna Miguna made it clear that the only way the two would see eye to eye, would be after Murkomen made ammends through a formal apology.
"Publicly apologize to me, first, then I may forgive you and endorse your correct message to Makau Mutua who has lost any shred of integrity many had believed he had," the vocal lawyer declared.
The three had been embroiled in a heated exchange on twitter on Saturday, with Professor Makau Mutua claiming that Murkomen was just DP William Ruto's errand boy.
"Why has DP Ruto’s attack dog Murkomen gone mute? The kitchen must have gotten too hot," Mutua shrewdly commented.
The seemingly cordial relations between Murkomen and Miguna came as a shock, as the two have had tumultous relations over the years.
Last year, the deported lawyer launched a scathing attack against the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, accusing him of blindly following DP Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“My brother Kipchumba, as you may recall, I told you and Mr. Aaron Cheruiyot NTV Kenya on November 2017, but which you both had exuberantly ignored because your mouths, bellies and pockets were full with illicit loot - stop following demagogues and reciting the Bible,” Miguna once tweeted.
