Deputy President William Ruto, on Sunday morning, put the Standard newspaper on the spot over a story they published on Saturday evening.
The DP referred to the publication's article titled, 'BBI A Waste of Taxpayers Money', as misleading and alarming.
He, therefore, took to his Twitter account, where he expressed his displeasure with the said newspaper.
"The headline of this article by the Standard Newspaper is misleading and sensationalist. It is clearly meant to cause disaffection and push a narrative that only the Standard knows," he tweeted.
He went on to ask the various media houses to shun agenda-led campaigns, urging them to employ fair and accurate practice when reporting.
"It is imperative that media should be guided by accuracy, truth and fair reporting," he remarked.
DP Ruto shared a screenshot of the paper's controversial article to his over 2.4 million twitter followers, to ensure that such instances would not be repeated.
While speaking during the wedding of Meru Politician Jim Muchui, at Karumo Technical Institute in Tigania West, on Saturday, DP Ruto allegedly stated that the BBI iniative was a waste of time and public funds, the Standard reported.
This is what seems to have angered the DP, who also questioned the real reason behind such articles.
