Anerlisa Muigai's Touching Words to Wanted Mother

Keroche Breweries CEO, Tabitha Karanja's daughter, Anerlisa Muigai, has penned a touching message to her mother after a warrant of arrest was issued against her, for claims of evading Ksh14 billion tax.

On her social media platforms, Anerlisa promised that she would stand with her mother, noting that she was praying for her.

"It doesn't matter what position you are in, nobody should ever watch their mother go through harassment. #iStandWithKeroche #iStandWithTabitha," she wrote.

On Wednesday, DPP Noordin Haji ordered the arrest of Keroche Breweries owners, Tabitha and her husband Joseph Karanja, over claims of tax evasion.

It is alleged that they failed to pay tax amounting to Ksh14.4 billion on various products manufactured and sold by Keroche Breweries Limited, during the period of January 2015 to June 2019.

Speaking to KTN News on phone, Tabitha termed the accusations levelled against her as baseless.

"If I present myself tomorrow (Thursday) I'll be jailed. If at all I'm getting the letter through the social media and he has not communicated to me officially, how?

"I'm talking to my lawyers to advise me further on what to do," she added.

On Thursday, Siaya Senator James Orengo, went to the high court to stop DPP Noordin Haji from charging the two with ten counts where the exchequer is said to have lost tax revenue.
