Elgeyo Marakwet Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen, has come under fire after he posted a selfie video on his Facebook page from the Arror River.
The senator was asking Kenyans to shun away from the propaganda in connection with the Arror and Kimwarer dams.
"As you all know, this project has been fought with a lot of propaganda, one being, the water is too little for the project of this magnitude," he stated in his video.
He went ahead and narrated that the dam would be very resourceful to the people of Kenya.
"It's going to make a big difference. We are going to generate electricity and irrigation project along Kerio valley which is going to irrigate over 100,000 hectares and ensure that we supply water to over 10,000 households," he added.
Kenyans did not take this lightly and took to the comment section to unleash their wrath.
"Viability of the Project is not in question. The money paid to the Italian firm is. Where is the money?" Joe Muhahami posed.
"The ghosts of the suffering innocent beneficiaries are finally hunting you. You'll speak until you can no more than the truth of your connivance," Zack Kinuthia added.
"Tell us the truth, otherwise rift valley people will never forgive you, we are impoverished by our own so-called leaders what a pity," Monica Yator stated.
The Arror and Kimwarer multi-billion dam scandal is one of the biggest schemes that has been witnessed in the country over the last two years.
