Govt Launches Search for Playful Census Enumerator

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), on Saturday, launched a search for a census enumerator, who is said to have impressed Kenyans.

In a Twitter post by the government body, KNBS sought to reward the enumerator who was captured in a video, playing with excited children during the census exercise.

This comes after a video of the enumerator went viral, especially after he was seen playing with excited children chanting "watu wa census! watu wa census!" (Census enumerators!)

In the video, the official later identified as Collins Kiprono, was in the course of duty when five children identified him, probably from his reflector jacket and began chanting and jumping up and down.

Kiprono, did not disappoint the children as he began jumping up and down as well, before joining the elated children moving around in circles.

KNBS thus took to their Twitter to look for Kiprono and commend him for going out of his way to make people happy during the tiresome exercise.

"You showed up put in the work,  and put a smile on someone's face, we celebrate you today."

"Anyone with information that could help us celebrate this enumerator kindly inbox. Thank you!" posted KNBS.

Almost immediately, the KNBS timeline was flooded with responses of the identity and whereabouts of Kiprono, some going as far as giving personal encounters with Kiprono.

Benard Kiprop a social media user commented, "This guy does a great job. He personally combed the town to ensure some of us who had not been counted are in the stats. I witnessed his efforts to net in all street families in Kericho Town. Reward Kiprono Chokosh."

Kinoti wa Mwirigi another twitter used agreed that "Nothing is more beautiful than seeing people enjoy working and making children feel appreciated."

In the spirit of appreciating Kiprono's efforts, another video of him was also posted, as he was enumerating a shy street boy in Kericho, further, won Netizens hearts.
