Susan Kihika Trashes Uhuru's Project [VIDEO]

Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika, on Friday, September 6, condemned the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) championed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking at a public function in Nakuru, the senator complained that the Building Bridges Initiative was wasting a lot of money, yet Kenyans did not understand what it was about.

"We would want to tell senator's Yusuf Haji and Amos Wako to stop using billions of money to stay in five-star hotels and invite people a few people to discuss BBI matters," Ms Kihika stated.

“BBI does not represent Kenyans’ views but those of a few individuals. There was no public participation and Kenyans were not given the opportunity to give their recommendations," she added.

Kihika also noted that in previous years, free and fair elections had not been witnessed.

"We all know that we have one problem with the constitution. It is known that every time after elections, the opponents claim that elections were not conducted in a free and fair manner," she remarked.

Kihika was speaking from the same script as Deputy President, William Ruto, who at a public rally in Naromoru, Nyeri County on Sunday, September 1, lamented that the initiative was a waste of time for Kenyans

"Let us not be fooled that there is a problem in the country. Only one person (Raila) has a problem and his issue is refusing to accept when he loses an election. The committee has wasted time travelling around the country lying to us that they are finding out the opinions of Kenyans," Ruto remarked.

Raila and Uhuru came up with the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) after the famous handshake and created a committee to write a report on what Kenyans proposed towards the change of the constitution.

Ruto stated that Kenyans did not have a problem with the constitution arguing that failure to accept election results was the real reason behind the BBI.
