Boyfriend to Sonko's Daughter in Baby Drama Months After Club Attack

Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, who is dating Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, has been sucked into a fresh baby drama involving a Mombasa woman identified as Hanifa Were.

Speaking to members of the press on Sunday, September 15, in the presence of Muslims for Human Rights (Muhuri), the woman claimed that the legislator had threatened to kill her after they separated.

Were claimed that Loitiptip initiated their relationship on Facebook after offering her money before growing cold and distancing himself from her.

"He texted me on (Facebook) messenger. I was hesitant when he introduced himself as a senator. I did not even know there was a senator by that name but after exchanging contacts we got to video chat and that's when I confirmed it was him," she recounted.

Hanifa Were. The woman who claims that she dated Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip and that he threatened to kill her.

Hanifa then moved to Nairobi to be with him until when she claimed that she had sensed he was lying to her over late-night meetings. She packed her bags and returned to her coastal hometown.

Three weeks after their separation, she was discovered she was pregnant and claims that the senator "became hostile towards me but I decided to keep my baby."

She later learned of his relationship with Sonko's daughter and claims that when she tried to reach out, the lawmaker started sending her threatening messages.

"This is the man who has been following me. I fear for my life. I am afraid of Anwar. He is not a good person," a Standard Media publication quoted Hanifa after showing them photos.

Confirming the relationship's existence, Loitiptip brushed off Hanifa's claims disclosing that he was not responsible for her child and that their relationship had only lasted for a week.

He further explained that he reached out to her after she had started threatening his wife and that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations had launched an investigation into the matter.

"I had an affair with this woman which did not last more than a week. Why is she forcing love? It's been six months since we left each other. Why would she come out now?"

"Why would I want to kill her? Should I be dealing with my fellow politicians or a woman? She should stop forcing things," countered the senator.
