Citizen TV Anchor Opens up on His Ksh30 Campus Hustle

Citizen TV anchor  Willis Raburu, in a Facebook post on Tuesday, September 17, opened up about his life on campus and his dream of a television career.

He claimed that as a student at Moi University, he used to host a show which he called Wayne Live, where he charged an entrance fee of only Ksh30.

In the post, he reminisced about how seeing his life now and where he started off makes him grateful for the journey he had traveled.

He narrated how when he was 7, he used to read his mother a newspaper and tell her that one day he was going to be on television.

On joining secondary school, however, he stated that the dream was overtaken by many other things, even though he admits that it never faded away.

He joined Moi University to pursue a bachelors degree in information science, contrary to his father's expectations.

He once stated that his dad wanted him to become an IT expert despite his media passion, and he thus lied to him that he was studying IT, only for him to find out during his graduation in 2010.

After campus, he joined K24 TV as a media intern before he finally got to Citizen TV, where he hosted Truthmeter, and now the 10 over 10 show, which he stated is one of his greatest achievements.

"When I finally got to grab a mic like this and say my name, in the nations biggest platform Citizen TV Kenya it was a dream come true and a prayer answered," he reminisced.

Recalling how he moved from charging Ksh30 shillings all the way to the man he is now, he claimed that his life has been nothing short of a miracle.

"Dream again, rise again, hope again, DONT GIVE UP! DO NOT QUIT! God is still faithful BUT once you get what you asked for keep praying because; WHAT GOT YOU THERE (PRAYER) is WHAT WILL KEEP YOU THERE! Now look in the mirror, that’s right! Successful people look like you!" he signed off.
