A 44-year-old woman escaped lynching after residents of Kimili discovered she had allegedly married a form one student.
The mother of seven currently being held by the police is reported to have eloped with the underage boy said to be missing for three days.
The suspect identified as Rita Nekesa is a single mother not bothered by her actions and seemed to enjoy her new relationship with the boy, Standard reports.
“The behaviour of the suspect who is a single mother has shocked the whole village, and I am warning old women against taking young boys as their husbands. They risk prosecution,”said the area Assistant Chief, Lorna Wanyonyi.
Wanyonyi confirmed the incident adding that the locals wanted to raze down her house but the police arrived in time to stop them.
The boy's parents had reported his disappearance.
