A Citizen TV presenter suffered the worst form of heartbreak after the death of his wife just three months into their marriage.
In a sit-down with K24 TV's Up-close and Personal in May 2017, Rauka Show presenter Andy Mburu candidly narrated that his wife, Priscilla, perished in a road accident.
They tied their knot on September 5, 2009. Three months later, on December 4, tragedy struck when he received the news of his wife's passing via a phone call.
They had each gone for separate meetings before reconnecting later. Sadly, his wife was involved in a road accident before they could meet.
"December 4th we wake up and she goes to have another meeting with them while my church had invited me to come on board as a staff member. We went and had breakfast next to the church office and then I went for a meeting and she went to Karen.
"I picked up my phone and called Priscilla and she wouldn't pick up so she texted and said, 'still in a meeting, send a text.'" recounted Mburu indicating that he was happy with his new position. The two were to celebrate about it later.
"We agreed to meet at our best man's house, his name is Marto. I was gonna hang out with Marto and she was going to come later," he continued.
His wife sent him a text later after her meeting was over and after 10 minutes elapsed without hearing from her, Mburu tried calling her again and she was no longer picking.
"10 minutes later she had not arrived and so I tried calling but no one picked. A few more minutes and when I tried to call, her phone was off.
"I later received a call from his Taxi driver who said, 'Andy, I've received a call and Priscilla and crew have been involved in an accident and you need to come to Kenyatta Hospital," he continued.
Mburu was actually not alarmed with the news and thought that her going to the hospital incident was just protocol.
Arriving at the hospital, however, is when he learned the accident was serious and that his wife had been hit by a lorry.
The damage was serious and a few moments after his arrival is when Priscilla past on.
The two had met at Egerton University while he was in his sophomore year while she had just a freshman.
