Gangsters Petrol-bomb Church in Daring Raid

Masked thugs stormed into the Full Gospel Life Mission Church in Kirinyaga Church, where they hurled home-made petrol bombs that burned the church to a crisp.

The shocking incident which took place in the wee hours of Sunday morning, September 22, left local residents baffled, with the motive still unclear, the Daily Nation Reported.

"We lost property worth more than Ksh1 million. Nothing was salvaged," Reverend Isaac Kiringa stated on Sunday.

The church faithful who had made their way to their house of worship were forced to hold their Sunday service in the open air as their sanctuary was not only razed down but declared an active crime scene as well.

Reverend Kiringa narrated how they had tirelessly tried to combat the raging flames with little success.

"We were overwhelmed. It consumed everything including chairs and crosses. It was terrible," he stated and urged the police to bring the perpetrators to book.

On his part, Kirinyaga East police boss Anthony Wanjuu requested the local residents to collaborated with his officers in the investigation.

Lydia Muthoni - the church's treasurer was in utter shock and revealed that the thugs had launched a direct attack on God.

"They are fighting God but they will not succeed," she said. "This is the first such incidence since independence," the shaken treasurer remarked.

"Outsiders plotted and executed their evil but the wrath of God will fall upon them," she added.
