Popular Kiss FM Presenter in Trouble for Failure to Pay Loan

Popular Kiss FM presenter, Andrew Kibe, on Wednesday, September 25, was arraigned in court for allegedly failing to pay the accrued debt.

Citizen Digital reports that Kibe had initially borrowed Ksh215,000 from a colleague in 2012 but had failed to pay it.

“Failure to complete the above contractual obligation by 28/02/2012 incurs an additional penalty of 7.5 percent in the above-mentioned interest for every four days exceeded from the disclaimer date,” read the court papers.

It is reported that the money, which had been borrowed from Joshua Ichang'i Weru, was supposed to be paid within 18 days with a Ksh 55,000 interest.

Seven years later, the loan is said to have gained interest and now stands at Ksh 2.5 million as of June, 2018.

Weru asked the court to demand Kibe for repayment of the loan including the interest.

Further, he demanded that Kibe should foot the cost of the lawsuit.

In July 2019, the Kiss FM presenter and his co-host Kamene Goro, were sued by their previous station, in what was termed as violation of a non-compete clause in their contracts.

The contract required them to refrain from working for a competing media house until after three months following the termination of their contracts.

In the filed documents, NRG Radio cited four things that they did for the presenters during their stay at the company.
