Watch Ruto's Allies' Hilarious Speech That Left Audience in Stitches [VIDEO]

Political humour, both as an art form and a tool of persuasion features frequently in public rallies and debates the world over. Deputy President William Ruto is one of the many Kenyan leaders who seem to have mastered it and reapt it powerful influence on public opinion.

His allies too seem to be taking the cue from him as evidenced in a public rally on Saturday, September 28 characterised by hilarious speeches by his protojes.

Women leaders under the Ruto-allied Inua Mama faction, were speaking at a Rally in Tharaka Nithi, addressing several issues, among them leadership.

Trans Nzoia Woman representative Janet Nangabo took to the podium and left the crowd in stiches with her not-so-conventional humour.

"This God is a God of wonder. He created sweetness and put some in pineapples, bananas, oranges and this other one he put in women," she joked.

At this point, the crowd was already wild with laughter at her funny comparison.

She went on to add that, there the ultimate sweetness was in how leadership is shared between men and women.

She urged women to take up more leadership positions without fear, in the process, declaring her support for Jubilee candidate for the Kibra race McDonald Mariga.

Another woman leader, Mary Wamaua Wathira, took the comedy a notch higher by comparing Ruto's 10-year term as deputy president to a nine-month pregnancy.

"We promised to carry this pregnancy and we agreed that we would give birth to Ruto. So far we have carried it for 7 years and we all know that the usual 9-month pregnancy is tough during the last month," she began.

"So far we have been pregnant with Ruto for the past seven years, is there anyone who can ask us to terminate this pregnancy? Will we be patient for the remaining three years? You know the doctor's scan already revealed that the baby is a boy and it is William Samoei Ruto," she declared amid cheers from the audience.
