Hussein Mohamed: Rise to the Top of Citizen TV

Hussein Mohamed is arguably one of Kenya's most talented news anchors, well known for his great interview skills that have propelled him to the 'A' list of Kenyan broadcasters.

He joined Citizen TV in 2008 and since then, his professionalism and demeanour have raised his profile both nationally and internationally.

Hussein went to Jamhuri High School in Nairobi County and thereafter joined the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) to pursue a Diploma in Journalism.

Later, he enrolled at the University of Nairobi where he undertook a degree in Journalism and Media Studies.

In December 2014, the news anchor walked down the aisle with his fianceé Malyun in a traditional Islamic ceremony at South C's Masjid Nur Mosque.

The TV presenter has maintained a low profile and little is known about him beyond the screen.

The established anchor announced his resignation from Citizen TV on Friday, October 2019 after a stint of 10 years with the RMS station.

His move was said to have caught even the senior editors off-guard, as the very secretive Hussein hadn't told anyone about his decision.

As at the time of his leaving, Mohammed was the Newsnight show host that aired every Tuesday night.
