Mistress Exposes How Ex-MP Swindled Her Ksh25M for Love

A former member of the National Assembly is in hot soup after his alleged mistress exposed his errant ways during a court proceeding.

According to a report by The Standard, Victoria Anna Hill, the secret lover to former Taveta MP Basil Criticos, filed a suit demanding Ksh25 million and 100 acres from the ex-legislator for the eight years they dated.

She added that she loaned Criticos the money to uplift his businesses and that he had agreed to pay her back before the end of their relationship.

She further disclosed the ex-MP was so smitten with her at the time that he offered her a 100-acre reward.

“He approached me to rehabilitate his property known as Grogan Castle registered in the name of Kenya Trade and Development Ltd.

"I agreed to renovate it at a fee which he consented to before I embarked on the work,” explained Hill.

To prove her case, Hill provided a letter signed by Criticos' lawyer, Walker Kontos, of him agreeing to transfer the parcel to her. It was signed on August 6, 2010.

She further disclosed that between 2006 and 2014, he loaned the former MP Ksh11.8 million explaining that Criticos acknowledged it and promised to repay the money.

“He acknowledged in writing the debt he owed me, but he refused to pay me and instead alleged that I am a thief who stole his properties and firearm. On account of other amounts and the interests, he is indebted to me to the tune of Sh25 million,” she continued.

In his defence, the former lawmaker denied that the two cohabited as husband and wife and that Hill broke into his property while he was away.

“I have never cohabited with her as common-law partners, as I have been happily married to Barbara Kirwan Criticos for 18 years. I do not understand the basis of her claims, as I only contracted her as an interior decorator at my property known as Grogan’s Castle.

“On diverse dates in 2014, while I was out of the country, she broke into my container on Magadi Road and stole various valuable items... including my family paintings valued at Sh23 million,” he stated.

He further denied receiving loans from Hill.
