Uhuru Surprised With 3 Special Gifts

President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday, October 11, awarded by students of the St Mary's School Nairobi during the celebration of the institution's 80 years of existence. 

Uhuru who is an alumnus of the school was the chief guest of the event and received three gifts from the students who felt honoured by his presence.

He was gifted with a hand-drawn portrait of himself, a potted tree and a framed badge of the school.

An excited President Kenyatta showed his gratitude by inviting the students to the State House for a tour.

He further went to fulfill the wishes of another student by agreeing to take a selfie photo with him and Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange who was the event's emcee.

The student who had been called to award President Kenyatta revealed that the blazer symbolised his leadership that started when he was the captain of the school's rugby team in his younger days.

President Kenyatta further noted that the statehouse trip for the students was to motivate them and also act as a thank you for the gifts they had offered him.

The event was attended by many former students of the school including Baringo senator Gideon Moi and billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi
