DP Ruto Warms up Ahead of Kipchoge's 1:59 Challenge [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto took to the streets of Vienna, Austria to support world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge.

Ruto, dressed in a tracksuit, decided to jog a bit in the Austrian capital park.

"All is set for tomorrow's (Saturday) landmark marathon; when the perceived limits of humanity shall be put to test through our own Eliud Kipchoge. I have no doubt he will make history and redefine our abilities. Just completed a solidarity jog at the Stadtpark, Vienna, in Austria," DP Ruto wrote on Twitter.

The DP was among the leaders who travelled to the European country to witness firsthand as Kipchoge tries to beat his own record.

In the race dabbed the INEOS 1:59, Kipchoge will try to be the first human to run 42 kilometres in less than two hours.

The elite athlete received support from all over the world from politician to sports personalities as well as enthusiasts.

Among the local leaders who sent their best wishes to the athlete included President Uhuru Kenyatta who made a personal phone call on Friday, October 11 to motivate him.

"You are in our prayers my friend, I just wanted to pass on that message to you. We just pray that you will be successful,"  the president told Kipchoge.

He further stated that, for Kenyans, success was not the only thing but rather the effort behind it meant everything.

"May God bless you my brother and continue protecting you and give you all the strength and courage you need and remember you have all the 46 million of us behind you," Uhuru added.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga also made the trip to Austria to support Kipchoge.
