Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang'i on Sunday, October 13, issued a stern warning to the terrorist group that carried out Saturday's deadly attack.
The attack left 11 officers from the National Police Service dead after running over an improvised explosive device along the Damajale Harare road near the Kenya-Somali border.
In his statement, the no-nonsense CS vowed that no stone would be left unturned until the perpetrators of the heinous act were apprehended, going on to send in reinforcements to the scene of the deadly explosion.
He also made it clear that the latest attack would in no way change the government's stance regarding rooting out and destroying all outlawed terrorist organizations.
"Their selfless patriotic sacrifice to serve Kenya renews our resolve in the fight against terror. Kenya remains unbowed," read an excerpt of his statement which he shared on twitter.
Matiang'i also shared his message of condolence to the grieving families.
"I extend my deepest sympathies and profound solidarity with the families of our gallant officers who lost their lives in Garissa last night," he stated.
President Uhuru Kenyatta echoed the CS's sentiment, as he mourned with the families of the deceased, vowing that just

He also emphasised on the need to remind the world that the government would not cower and retreat due to such attacks.
"The President sends a strong reminder to all misguided elements out to compromise the safety and security of Kenyans across the country that the Government and the people of Kenya will never succumb to their cowardly terrorist actions," Uhuru asserted via the statement that was issued by State House Spokesperson, Kanze Dena.
