Kipchoge Reaches Out to Obama With 1 Special Message

Kenya's track icon, Eliud Kipchoge, on Monday, October 14, sent out a heartfelt appeal to the former US President, Barack Obama.

The sub-2-hour marathoner reached out to Obama after the 44th president of the United States acknowledged his super-human fete of conquering the 42km marathon in under two hours.

"Marathoner Eliud Kipchoge became the first ever to break two hours. Today in Chicago, Brigid Kosgei set a new women’s world record. Staggering achievements on their own, they’re also remarkable examples of humanity’s ability to endure - and keep raising the bar," Obama posted on his official Twitter page.

In his response, Kipchoge requested for an audience with the former US president, going on to disclose the reason why he felt their meeting would change the future of the world.

"It would be my greatest honour if we could meet, and discuss how we can make this world a running world. As a running world is a peaceful world," read an excerpt of Kipchoge's message to Obama.

This echoed the statement he made following the historic run in Vienna, Austria where he emphasized his message that no human is limited.

"I'm the happiest man to run under two hours, in order to inspire many people, to tell people that no human is limited, you can do it. Together we can make this world a running world.

Kipchoge also thanked Obama for being one of his sources of inspiration.

"Dear Mr Obama, Thank you for your special words. In life, we hope to inspire others. Thank you for inspiring me," read a section of his special message to the former US president of Kenyan descent.
