Matiang'i's Aide Kicked Out of Parliament by Angry MPs

Members of the National Assembly's departmental committee on administration and national security on Tuesday, October 15, failed to give Interior CAS Patrick Ole Ntutu audience citing Parliamentary procedure.

Ole Ntutu had appeared before the committee on behalf of Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i.

The committee led by Sirisia MP John Waluke declined to have the CAS answer the 14 questions that they had prepared.

Waluke and his team sent the CAS away stating they would only take answers from the CS Matiang'i.

The committee further asked Ole Ntutu to inform CS Matiang'i to present himself before the committee on Tuesday, October 22.

MPs had summoned Matiang'i earlier on September 17, over the ban on night mourning events popularly known as disco matanga.

The matter was raised by Rabi MP William Kamoti who protested the CS' ban violated the culture of the locals.

Matiang'i banned the events in Kilifi County alleging that they had become havens for criminals in the area.

The CS has been on the spot before for ignoring the summons from Parliamentary committees.
