On Thursday, October 17, controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna launched a vicious attack on former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his family on social media.
Miguna claimed that Ida Odinga's children were not sired by the former premier, listing names of people whom he purported to be their "real" fathers.
ODM Communication Director Philip Etale took to social media to call out the barrister for the remarks.
"Miguna Miguna, that was unnecessary. It is bad to peddle lies. In fact, a person calling himself an intellectual resorting to spread blatant lies with the aim of trying to malign someone and assassinate their character is worse than a murderer.
"In layman’s language, you behave like a busybody. Your social media ranting about Raila Odinga’s family is not only in bad taste but an affront to civility and the basic tenets of maturity. In short, that is not politics, it is nonsense," the tweet by Etale read.
Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino was also among the angry Kenyans that took to social media to bash the lawyer for his slanderous posts.
Babu cautioned the advocate and advised him to get a wife to help take his mind off Raila and his family.
Kenyans on social media also stuck it to Miguna, questioning his morality and natural conscience and demanded respect for the former premier. Others asked the lawyer to draw a boundary between politics, personal feuds and family.
On Monday, October 14, the exiled lawyer attracted the wrath of netizens after he demeaned Eliud Kipchoge's sub-two-hour marathon achievement.
Miguna argued that in 2019, while the rest of the world celebrated Nobel Prize winners, and other achievements, Kenyans were ululating over what he described as runners, hunters and gatherers.
