Ngirita's Mother Breaks Down in Court [VIDEO]

Phylis Njeri Ngirita broke down in court on Thursday, October 24 after she was charged with failing to pay taxes from the money she was paid by the National Youth Service.

Ngirita appeared before Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku where she denied four counts of tax evasion and pleaded with the magistrate for a lenient bail.

In a video shared by Daily Nation, she pleaded with the judge, claiming that she did not have the money to pay hefty bails, especially because she was faced with responsibilities like school fees.

Ngirita denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh1 million with one surety and alternative cash bail of a similar amount.

The case will be mentioned on November 7, 2019.
