Ambulance Bursts Into Flames, Patient Escapes Death by a Whisker

On Friday, October 25, an ambulance in Turkana County burst into flames.

Daily Nation reported that the ambulance caught fire shortly after dropping a patient at Lodwar County and Referral Hospital.

Security guards at the hospital are said to have seen smoke emanating from the vehicle's front part before it went ablaze.

While confirming the incident, Turkana Central Sub-county police boss, David Mburukwa, stated that no one had been injured.

In July, 2019, a vehicle travelling along the Nyeri-Nyahururu Road burst into flames, killing three people.

An eyewitness by the name, Mwangi, noted that the driver was trying to make a U-turn to avoid a police roadblock and hit a culvert.

"We don't know why the driver was trying to run away from the police. We watched helplessly as the car went up in flames," he disclosed.

Kieni West Sub-county Police Commander, Ali Ahmed, informed that investigations were ongoing.

He added that the officers also wanted to know what the car was transporting.
