Angry Sonko Vows to Fire More County Officials [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was at it again threatening to take action against county officials who showed laxity in their work.

The governor, who was being driven along Jogoo Road, noticed a pile of garbage on the way and could not hold his displeasure.

In an insult-ridden video posted by Daily Nation on Monday, October 28, the governor questioned the work ethic of his environment officers, threatening to fire all of them if the garbage was not collected.

"The county minister, ward officers and environment officer, I'm on Jogoo Road and can't believe what I'm seeing. What is this nonsense? Look at this kind of stupidity! I've even lost my morale.

"I will fire you if you don't stop this childish behaviour, useless! " stated Sonko as he filmed the heaps of garbage along the roadside.

The governor further claimed that it seemed as if the officers had disserted their jobs because he hadn't suspended or fired anyone in a while.

He then ordered his the county employees to investigate who had been assigned to collect garbage.

Sonko added that if the section was assigned to a private garbage collection company, then they should not get paid.

The county boss then turned his wrath on the county chief of staff, noting that he had over 4,000 casual workers at his disposal.

"Look at the grass and the flowers along this road. The chief of staff I will also come for you and you won't like it. 4,000 casual workers and you can't match the five casual workers along Uhuru Highway," Sonko ranted.

He claimed the officers were being paid too much to joke and urged them to be more serious with their work.

Upon reaching City Stadium roundabout, the governor could not believe his eyes and claimed it had been neglected.

He then faulted the Roads and Transport chief officer Engineer Fredrick Karanja, criticising him over poor workmanship on the city road.

"Look at the potholes all over, there is nothing you are doing. Keep joking the way you are and you will feel my wrath," the governor warned.

Sonko ordered that repairs be made by Monday, October 28 or he would face the axe.
